Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer care, and women’s and infants’ services. The Food and Nutrition Services department at Missouri Baptist Medical Center's mission is to providenutritionally balancedmeals and medical nutrition therapyfor patients, staff and visitors of Missouri Baptist Medical Center byworking collaboratively withthe facility's nursing, ancillaryand medical staff professionals. Our licensed clinical dieticians provide medical nutrition therapyto both inpatients and outpatients as it relates to their personal medicalneeds.The department's patient services,production and retail teams work to deliver a variety offood offerings on a daily basisthat are nutritionally balanced, healthy, flavorful and fresh for the hospital's patients, employees and visitors.
The Cook performs a variety of food service production activities such as pre-preparation and preparation of hot and cold foods for patient services, retail and catered operations.
Prepares food items as assigned according to standardized recipes, food preparation guidelines and sanitation standards.
Consistently checks food for quality and correct temperature.
Maintains cost control and minimizes waste when preparing food.
Accommodates and has knowledge of special dietary requests.
