The Boeing Company Software Engineer (Command and Control) - Early Career in Saint Louis, Missouri

  1. The Boeing Company is currently seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join The Virtual Warfare Center (VWC) in St. Louis, MO.

In the VWC, you will be joining a core team of software developers working to enhance multiple simulation applications and operator interfaces. The selected candidate’s primary responsibility will be supporting Surveillance/Command and Control applications as well as developing models to support these applications.

Job duties may include but not limited to the following:

  • Supporting real-time operator-in-the-loop experimentation and analysis.

  • Acting as a liaison to our customer to drive their needs into our core development.

  • Train and inform customer on command and control software

  • Determining requirements, supporting command and control software, and integrating and developing interfaces to 3rd party software.

  • Modeling platforms, sensors and emitters, communications, weapon and tactical systems, and integrated family of systems.

    To succeed in this role you should have experience in modeling & simulation concepts, an understanding of discrete-event and frame-based simulation and an ability to work in a dynamic and agile environment. Strong communication skills are critical to translate user concerns into requirements and follow through on developed requirements to ensure delivery of a quality product to our internal and external stakeholders.

Technical Environment: C , Java, CMake, svn/git, Linux and Windows platforms, Agile SDLC methodology

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • Experience developing Software in C

  • 2 Years Cross Platform Development (Windows/Linux)

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with command and control software

  • Experience with OITL experimentation

  • 2 years of experience developing with object oriented languages

  • Knowledge of the Agile Software Process

  • Experience with version control systems such as Git or Subversion

  • Experience working autonomously in closed areas with little to no supervision

  • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
    Typical Education/Experience:

    Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
