The IRA Operations department is seeking top performing, results oriented applicants to fulfill the open IRA Ops Processing Manager (WFA Operations Manager 3) role. The IRA department is responsible for various asset movements (such as distributions, contributions, Rollovers, etc.,) and to understand the IRS regulations associated with IRAs.

The IRA Operations Processing Manager will be responsible for managing the IRA Operations Processing Team and the Rapid Rollover team; supporting the client experience; achieving financial and business results; ensuring compliance with IRS Regulations and internal policies/procedures, along with other risk based functions.

Overall Responsibilities: Manages, directly and through subordinates, operational activities for a large single functional unit or multiple sections. Directs nonexempt staff or a small entry-level exempt staff. Works independently on moderately complex issues and supports major projects and initiatives. Performs operational policy and procedure reviews and supervisory controls. Manages ongoing processing efforts, including improvements, quality and risk. Is accountable to manager for unit budget expenses and leads by example.

  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of brokerage operations experience

  • 6+ years of operations experience

  • 2+ years of leadership experience in operations

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of retirement or Individual Retirement Account (IRA) experience

  • Ability to achieve high production and quality standards

  • Ability to be proactive, innovative and creative in meeting customer and enterprise needs

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem solving techniques

  • Ability to manage initiatives involving process improvements

  • Ability to take an active role in the education, mentoring and training of less experienced team members

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of brokerage: systems or applications

  • Knowledge and understanding of offshore operations processes

  • Knowledge and understanding of operational workflows process

  • Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives

  • 1+ year of leadership experience including coaching, training, and mentoring

  • 3+ years of Beta experience

  • Experience resolving and working- through escalated and complex issues

  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines

  • Experience directing and overseeing escalated technical troubleshooting and complex analysis efforts for prompt recovery of major issues

  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Registration for FINRA Series 99 must be completed within 120 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.

  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. In addition state registration, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer acceptance.
