Job Description


This is a technical role providing AV support, video system maintenance and end-user training for a geographically-dispersed corporate environment. The position will identify training needs, develop content, and deliver live or video training courses, as well as provide hands-on technical support for Webex/Telepresence, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, and video meetings for large meetings.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate, test, and implement system upgrades with vendor; perform beta testing for monthly security patches and other upgrades to ensure consistent/uninterrupted video functionality.

  • Monitor meeting system logs to proactively identify meeting/scheduling issues. Confer with employees at all levels of the organization to gain knowledge of work situations requiring WebEx and telepresence to better understand changes in procedures, business initiatives and technologies.

  • Develop training content and identify instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.

  • Develop strong relationships with all departments to develop appropriate course materials and receive/process feedback.

  • Select or develop training content and teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials and reference works.

  • Conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as new hire onboarding, refresher training, etc. as it relates to WebEx and telepresence technologies.

  • Provide executive support for AV needs to the Executive Committee as required for the scheduling and execution of their meetings Coordinate with vendors and secure appropriate funding (OPEX/CAPEX) for AV improvements and expansion

  • Coordinate training schedule with the hiring and training demands of the organization.

  • Assist employees with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to their WebEx and telepresence use.

  • Develop best practice processes for scheduling and conducting WebEx/Telepresence meetings.

  • Maintain personnel training records.

  • Provide daily WebEx phone support and hands-on assistance as required, some with a heightened level of urgency.

  • Troubleshoot, test and coordinate with vendors to resolve hardware/system failures.


  • Direct end-user training, video conferencing/WebEx with video experience is desired. Telepresence a plus

  • Candidate must have a solid understanding of network connectivity and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook meeting functionality.

  • Must be able to work independently, concisely, and within standard corporate policies.

  • Additional competencies include: advanced problem-solving skills; ability to work collaboratively with peer technical teams to analyze & resolve technical issues; strong understanding of how supported technologies are used in the business operation; and strong verbal & written communication skills.

  • Must be able to develop content and present material that is complete & understandable to target audience regardless of level within the organization.

  • Must demonstrate effective listening skills; must able to handle high-profile/demanding customers in urgent situations with sensitivity and diplomacy.

  • Handles a wide range of administrative tasks effectively while managing an overall task workload that may include technical activities.

  • Phone usage and phone communications skills are required.

  • This is a full-time position with typical work hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT., however there will be the occasional need for meeting support outside of these hours. Occasional U.S. and international travel is expected for this position to internal Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals locations for on-site meeting support or to conduct training.

Required Education and Experience

  • Four-year degree in IT-related technologies, CCNA Voice, or CCNA Collaboration Certification preferred.
